The Cesiomaggiore folk group burns in 1971 as a joke. The hilarity, the tricks and the wish to have fun never stop from realizing the strict aims that the founder members proposed from the origin. The success of the first shows and the will to re-establish the old group existing before the Second World War, worked together to take the decision to continuously go over with the great heritage of folk wisdom existing in Cesiomaggiore. The group soon started a serious work of research aiming to acquire philological and technical competences, not only for facing up the several stage needs, but even because it guessed its own shows have not just to entertain, but they could form an interesting way to spread folk wisdom.

Since 40 years ago the group performs in several villages in Belluno province, in Veneto, in Italy and in all the rest of the world (France, Switzerland, Austria, Germany, Poland, Czechoslovakia, Holland, Sweden, Central America, Brazil, Japan, and Taiwan). The Group took many awards during its history; among all we remember the “Golden Axe” won in Zakopane (Poland) in 1985, during the 17th International Folk Festival of Mountain Regions, as first place for the “Reproduced Folklore with Artistic Arrangement”

Seravella Museum - The Cesiomaggiore folk group work together with the Ethnographic Museum of Belluno Province, which has seat in Seravella, since it was born. The group collected as years went by the main part of exhibited objects in the museum and now it goes over to give its help for searching and servicing the exhibition with great enthusiasm.
